Do you find that you are always eager to please people?

I spent about £350 on presents for my parents the Christmas just gone and they probably spent about £70 on me and this has happened countless times. Can you relate to this?  Is it common for autistic people to go over the top in order to please people?

  • I've always put others first ahead if myself, all my life. And now since i've realised i'm autistic, i've begun to realise so many people have been laughing at me, knowing that i was a fool. Just one example, although i could go on. I have a nephew who is a millionaire, not just your average millionaire, hes mega, in the Sunday Times rich list.  One Christmas i asked him for a bike, it wasn't a flash one, i thought he can easily afford it. Christmas morning comes and he gives me a packet of garden seeds, i was sure he was joking and my bike was out in his car,  but it wasn't. Over the years i'd given him and his family thousands. Not now, even the most stupid of us learn eventually.
