Do you find that you are always eager to please people?

I spent about £350 on presents for my parents the Christmas just gone and they probably spent about £70 on me and this has happened countless times. Can you relate to this?  Is it common for autistic people to go over the top in order to please people?

  • I wouldn't say that I do this in a money-related way, no- but I do find that I set my own needs aside a lot so that other people will like me. I put up with a lot of things that are difficult/painful for me socially and in terms of my sensory environment because I feel that everybody will think I'm too weird, unreasonable, or selfish if I tell them what's bothering me.
