All the pass-the-parcel with the £600 for my new rental property began on Friday evening. My cousin emailed me about it, then I went over there, collecting the letter. Then, my tenant said I also had to collect the Rates Bill, and that I entered without her permission. I apologised, promised never to do it again, but I was informed of a formal complaint to the Estate Agent.
This seems to fit, nicely, with the stereotype of the dodgy landlord. However, it was an honest mistake. And I made amends.
Now, I'm a bit self-conscious.
