A huge warning on fortune telling, the occult, horoscopes, crystals for power and all that

I was sucked in and went to fortune tellers, I went to different ones they wrapped lies around truths to confuse you. It costs a lot of money and they ruined my life.

They all pushed me towards a man who ruined my life and was abusive he bullied me and was horrible

They then pushed me towards another man who fell for me, and we had chats about it, but at the same time he was actually unknown to me dating someone else that was just over 16 ! and then I found out he liked swing if you know what I mean. it really

A person I know went to lots of various fortune tellers who told her they would guide her to move house, she ended up loosing her home and her money for a home and now lives poorly.

It says in my faith the following quote, I did not know this at the time about this rule in my faith. But I think everyone should read it even if you have no faith. Because all that stuff from the occult is evil.

At first it seems amazing, like they know stuff about you and know who you are liking or what you want to work as and all your goals and dreams and people in your life and holidays abroad and all that and they play a game with you. They tell you stuff that comes true to lure you back so you pay them and others for another reading and they do it again untill you trust them then they destroy you.

Even those that do not wish to hurt anyone end up doing so as they have no idea that their so called power is from evil.

I will never go again nor do any of the occult. I asked for forgiveness and promised not to do it again and tell others about its badness to try to save them. If people do this stuff they risk getting ruined forever and going to hell and not to heaven. even if you do not believe in God. Please do be warned that you are paying people to actually end up ruining your life and putting you on wrong paths etc. save your money for better things or for helping others.

Some fortune tellers in shows are false they are con artists they put people in the foyer or elsewhere to listen into peoples conversations then they report back to the presenter via radio link.

And those that do have powers those powers come from evil. Thanks for reading this.

“All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to ‘unveil’ the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.”

  • This is... not an entirely comfortable thread to read, as someone who tends to enjoy a lot of things mislabelled as 'satanic' and who is interested in witchcraft as a form of self-reflection and insight (e.g. tarot reading as a way of identifying your own thoughts, or the rituals of spellcasting as a way to focus on your well-being and intentions in life).

I think the actual issue here is that people take advantage of others by exploiting their vulnerability, scaring them, or making promises that can't be kept. Many of us autistic folks tend to take people at their word so perhaps we need to be more wary around people like that more generally. There are definitely a lot of them in areas like clairvoyance, where there are strong beliefs and little evidence, sure- but this phenomenon isn't exclusive to the paranormal.

  • I am not comfortable with some of the sentiments expressed here either, as I have dabbled a lot in Tarot and astrology.

However, I do know that unfortunately, there are predatory people who will use these things to exploit vulnerability in others, I have been on the receiving end of it too. People abuse for all sorts of reasons - they like a little power, a hold of some kind over others, they have to be right at all costs, they are trying to be clever, they are after your money, or want to seduce you.

Lots of grubby all-too human reasons.

I personally got fed up with astrology because I couldn't get on with the over generalising and stereotyping that goes with sun-sign astrology. Unfortunately a lot of astrologers can be quite zealous about that for various reasons.

Having said all that, I will say I think your average reader at a psychic fair is usually pretty well intended and kind. Many have studied the subject professionally and adhere to a code of ethics, in which confidentiality is respected, and it's not all about being clever, or for that matter, abusive.
