Visual timetables

I am looking at creating some form of visuals to support myself. I work full time and cope fairly well but am constantly having meltdowns and getting burnt out. I love bullet journaling and that helps but I struggle with simple routines and household tasks. Things like the sequence of tasks when I get in from work.

Does anyone else use anything like this as an adult or have any recommendations?

  • I have a large whiteboard in the kitchen where I write things down that I need to remember if they're not part of my routine, like certain chores or appointments that that I need to make.

Usually when I get in from work I need to sit and recover for at least an hour or two before I tackle any of my daily chores.  Extra jobs have to be done at the weekend.

Laminated pictures on velcro can be used as a visual timetable, with two rows of velcro so once a thing is done you can move it to the other row and see the next thing.

  • My rule number 1 - Don't leave mess, you won't have to clean.

It means, put things back where you took them from, leave essential items, like phone, keys, tabacco only in chosen spots/locations. Extrapolate from there.

My rule number 2 - Follow your rules.

  • I'm a bit more laissez-faire with housework. However, it DOES get done.

My Nan was such a perfectionist about our home. There was no way I could cope. But I have a cleaner, who comes every Wednesday morning, and she's a Godsend.
