Reasonable Adjustments for autism and mental health?

Hi...I will try and keep this to facts to make it easier for people to comment.

The basic concern I have is whether or not my workplace have done what they are legally required to do based on the 2010 Equality Act.

1) I have had depression anxiety for 30+ years - declared it on application for current job 18 months ago.

2) Was diagnosed with Autism in June 2022 - informed my manager immediately and asked for Occupational Health support.

3) Work did not refer me to occupational health as it was "not necessary".

4) A welfare meeting took place over a month later, but only after I contacted director level management and got senior HR involved.

5) I was told I would have to provide strategies for support. I explained that I had no medical knowledge and could not do so properly.

6) I made some basic suggestions, which were agreed by manager and HR. Six months on one has still not been fully implemented.

7) Recently workload has increased so much that I would need to work up to 60 hours per week to fulfil the workload given, not the 40 hours of my contract.

8) I get paid for overtime, but cannot sustain an extra up to 20 hours per week - it affects my energy levels and mental health negatively.

9) I communicated to manager that the workload was impossible to achieve - some was taken off me and given to someone else - reducing overtime to 2 hours per day.

10) Even 2 hours per day overtime is too much, and has made me feel like a failure.

11) I have had a downturn in mental health as a result.

12) I was sent home from work after communicating how I felt to my manager - GP has now signed me off from work.

13) Work have now referred me to Occupational Health - the day after being sent home.

14) What reasonable adjustments can I ask for?

Many thanks.

  • Your reasonable adjustments needs to be written down on a autism act form*

I was sat down with my production manager and we filled the form together.

I have melt downs.. instead of walking out of work,. Im now able to take 10mins outside.

I only deal with 1 manager

i can stop the factory machine to goto the toilet without getting cover

I can take longer breaks without question

    i can answer phone calls

I get more time off work than others.

then the person who does this reasonable changes will understand you better.

but I’ve been there 10yrs and I goto work 30mins early and care about my job, so work care about me I guess
