Hello
In 2010, my undiagnosed autistic (high functioning) 17 son done some things that were a little out of character it seemed. And this led him to a well...unsubstatiated diagnoses of psychosis andd medicated from then on with medications that have incapacitated him in all sorts of ways, he has been medication free for nearly 7 weeks and we have been going through all sorts of withdrawals and waiting for the brain to reconnect, which we know could take ages.
One of the things he did (in 2010) that was not really like him was he took his clothes off and put himself under his duvet and played his computer game, he had had several days and nights without sleeping. The day the naked bit happened, the same day the crisis team came to assess him, as soon as my son realised there were strangers in the home he dressed himself fully and his sense of modesty was there.
They left hs room for a time and during that time, he removed his clothes again, but he thought they had gone, however, when he realised they hadn't he redressed himself again!
Since being medicated his sense of self has really deminished and his sense of modesty doesn't exist, and self care.
I have to assist him with most things.
What I need to know from anyone, have you experienced the need to remove all clothes, when this wasn't a typical thing for
you to do? It talks a lot on line about Autstic Children removing clothes, but not adults, autism is not a child thing, its for life.
Any thoughts or comments?
