PIP appeal

I have applied for PIP for the first time , and I had heard the process is not easy . I’ve received my decision letter and I scored a total of 2 points.
reading the letter it look like they have not even read or even understand any of my reasons for applying for PIP. Mostly the letter looked  copied and pasted

Basically they not awarded me PIP because I can drive a car, and because I engaged well over the phone .

I def be appealing .

has anyone else had success appealing a PIP decision

  • As it was your first time, it does not surprise me in the least that the Decision Maker refused your claim. The same thing happened to me back in 2019. Fortunately, I received assistance from a Welfare Rights person (possibly Citizens Advice), who wrote a letter on my behalf requesting a mandatory reconsideration. My claim was looked at by a different Decision Maker. It never went as far as the Appeals stage, which I was extremely relieved about.
