I think I've spotted the pattern distinguishing situations when I was communicating with allistic effectively, and those when I didn't. They all fall into one category:

Speculating over meanings of details

There are unfortunately some annoying conditions. You need to know someone a little to know what theirs areas of interests are, e.g. workmates, or classmates Theirs and yours must overlap. I have tiny unfair advantage though. My special interest is thinking. So, I can speculate over details of pretty much everything. Smiley

Next step is verification. I will keep you informed.

  • I can talk anybody and everyone to the death while keeping them standing up. Or a small group. Or my ADHD friend who is well known for that. I challenged him once long time ago and I won. He was unable to kick me out of his flat all night while he wanted to have some sleep before going to work in a morning. I left him 30 min before he had to leave for work. LOL

    But requirement is common topic of interest. I put that unrestrained version on a leash some time ago, so I can put what I want to say on hold and let others speak and than continue

    I wondered often if that isn't an aquired skill. I grew up with mom and 3 sisters and 'dad' who wasn't dad or any example. So I speculated that excesive chattiness comes from my upgringing and the need to silence their voices somehow.
