Hello NAS83356,
You may want to use our Autism Services Directory to search for services in your area that cater for people with an autism spectrum disorder. You can find the Directory here: https://www.autism.org.uk/directory
All the best,

it makes me gullible, I reckon I'm not alone
ABA is harmful for autistic children. It is all about controlling their behaviour, instead of looking at the reasons for their behaviour. Behaviour is communication, it tells you when your child is distressed or happy. We don't express our feelings the same way that neurotypical people do. If your child is having trouble communicating, then perhaps look at alternative forms of communication like signs or picture symbols. Using this helps the child get comfortable with communication and actually helps them develop speech. (I've worked with Speech therapists and have actually seen this work.)
ABA is very similar to conversion therapy. It is telling the child that they need to conform and that their own needs do not matter. Don't put your child through that. Use Google to educate yourself and listen to the people who have been through it.
