Pet bereavement

Yesterday our beautiful friendly giant of a lab passed away, my 9 year old ASD son is really struggling to cope with the fact he didn't get the chance to say goodbye, they had A Very strong bond and our beautiful furry friend had such a calming affect on him - has anyone got any tips or been through this ?? We are really struggling with our own grief having had him for almost 11 years as well as trying to give our sons the support they need right now, thanks in advance - his passing was unexpected

  • He will always have a place in your heart. My late dog, Jessy, still lives on inside me, and brightens my thoughts.

Like Pink68, I don't really have any advice (apart from if it were me, I would simply want support from my parents and it sounds like you're giving him lots of support) but I'm very sorry for your loss - poor dog, may he rest in peace. Lots of love to you, your son and the rest of your family at this very sad time.

  • Sorry, I don't have any advice  for you, I just wanted to offer my condolances to you all.
