Changes in routine

Hi guys Wave I have a change in my routine now and I can’t sleep. I’ve recently started my apprenticeship (august I started so recent to me) and it took some adjustment a couple of weeks of sleeping on the sofa the tv on but I love my new job now. But with my apprenticeship as with most comes college work. I’ve been allowed to do 1 full day every other week on Wednesday. This starts this week I’ve had plenty of warning and I have told my college support but now it’s currently 1am Wednesday morning and I’m on the sofa with the tv on and a cup of hot milk haha. 

how do you all cope with change in routine because I should be in bed went about 10 and I just can’t sleep

  • I find change causes more challenge getting to sleep. Sometimes after several nights I get so tired I get to sleep. Things I try that work sometimes.

    Listening to music that is not lively or loud.

    Writing down all the thoughts in my mind to look at the next day.

    Reading something that is boring so I can't keep my eyes open.

    Going to bed half an hour later than usual so I am more tired and setting the alarm for the same time each day.

    Walking earlier in the day.

    Counting sounds I can hear or just counting until the boredom makes me fall asleep.
