Feeling a bit down

Hey guys, just having a bit of a down day today. Every time I think Ive got this life thing on the right track something just comes along and kicks me in the gut.
Finally got a job working in a school for an agency, felt amazing to be finally bringing money into the family instead of just relying on UC and what my wife can bring in. Last week there was tough but today, oh my goodness, there are no words for it. Honestly the place is like a feral jungle, to say the kids behave like wild animals would be unfair to the animals. Just got to breaking point with them today, lost my temper and felt like crying afterwards. Came home and my little boy was kicking off as well.
Just a bad day. I want to work, there is nothing I hate more than the stress of dealing with the Jobcentre, but dont know how long I can do this for

  • Hi Billy.

I think you are exceedingly brave and resilient being in a school environment.  The noise of screaming, out of control kids raises my anxiety levels to dangerously high levels extremely quickly.  You have my respect....and sympathy.

Congrats on getting yourself out there and I hope you can continue safely and enjoy the feeling of your indisputable achievement.

  • Hey man, I'm sorry life has thrown you a down ball today. I always think of it as a game of dodgeball, life continuously throws them and sometimes we dodge others we're unlucky and get hit.

But I think now's a good time to pause for a second and breathe. Take everything in and give yourself a pat on the back. Look what you've managed to achieve. It's amazing, I couldn't even volunteer!

Working with kids must be triggering you. They can be loud and I bet that's hard for you to deal with. When my sister's kids come over and get loud and vicious I always turn it into a game where they go quiet, draw, write and colour it calms them down and gives me peace. Maybe you could have yours do the same?

I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon man.

I know life's kicking you but don't let it win. This is a blip and you will get through it dude. Hang in there.
