Changing doctors

I'm on a waiting list for a diagnosis on the NHS. If a change doctors to a different area of the UK will that mean I am taken off that waiting list?

I’ve been looking into this as I’m planning to move 200 miles from where I live. The answer I was given was that I would have to start again on the waiting list.
