so i have autism and adhd do you guys have any tips on staying organized
I have autism/asperger's so staying organised can be a huge problem also because I have low energy and a lot of pain. For my bills I have a ledger where I have listed all of my monthly bills on (1) page I have 5 monthly bills down the page I have 1 name of bill e.g Thames Water account number and I list the whole year January - December I then write each bill paid that way I can see any month I have missed on (1) page.
laundry: have 2 baskets (1) for coloured/dark clothing and (1) for whites I wash when can 3/4 fill the washing machine and then it goes straight into the dryer and I fold it when dry on the same day.
I change my bedding on a Monday and wash towels as well all on the same day.
I buy extra milk and bread which goes into the freezer - you save money and time and you are never without bread or milk - when milk is 1/4 left I take out a new milk because it needs time to defrost you will have to decide how long until you run out. I have a family size fridge freezer which is the best purchase.
My mum washes up straight after each meal. That is where I am mostly disorganised especially when I fell unwell - I wish my kitchen could fit a dishwasher.
vacuuming and dusting should be done at least x1 per week on the same day will help you get organised.
Making time-tables can be very useful and prioritising can help you do what is most important 1st. I have A, B, C, lists I also use this list when I want to achieve something so what I really want to do will be A, then B, will be my next important if a can not be achieved and C, will be least.
I keep my cat's biscuit bowl filled so he decides when he wants it - he gets soup and other treats when he wants it, water bowl is wash and filled fresh every day.
Use the 'touch once method' so you limit time. Rotations for getting chores done very good. I use my telly earphone to listen to my
favourite programs while wash-up washing up especially after being unwell is such a bore.
Hope this helps.
