Private assessment

For a few years now, there’s been discussions of me possibly being on the spectrum. We all know what the waiting list is like for the NHS and how they don’t prioritise adults. We did try this route, but my referral was denied and they didn’t explain to me why. I later heard through a third party it was due to the long waiting list.Has anyone got recommendations for private assessments? Maybe ones that are cheapish as well. I really cannot afford £1,750 (which is the price for literally all private ones I have looked in to). It would be such a great help!

  • The costs do vary a little bit, but it’s important to know exactly what you will be getting. Some charge a lot, and you’ll just fill in a form or two and have one video call. I don’t think that’s sufficient, but think about what you want, what they offer, and any payment options when you decide. And ensure that they specialise in diagnosing adults, or women/girls if you are female.
