Scared of the news

I find these well established threads with lots and lots of replies, replies to replies, very hard, in fact often impossible to navigate, however the title of this thread resonates with me so here’s my four penneth, with apologies if it’s off track…

So I spent years and years being triggered by and anxious about the news. I had this inner need to know what was going on though so my periodic absences from news consumption just made my anxiety about the world worse. I tried various print news sources in their day, then umpteen different apps and websites in the recent years, nothing solved it until I remembered what the chap who ran the newsagents where I did a paper round as a child told me, which was “there is only one truly unbiased and independent newspaper and it’s the Financial Times”. So I bit the pay wall bullet and subscribed and it’s absolutely superb.

There’s no bias, no ranting, the politics is handled objectively and the balance of types of article is superb. The reason for all this is that it’s target audience is primarily investors and bankers and financial experts, these people don’t need or want rhetoric and angle and bias, they want and need pure simple facts on which to base very important decisions. So although I’m not actually one of this target audience (I’m a retired librarian) though I do have high level number skills, it satisfies need for awareness in an entirely non triggering way. Best money spent for ages. 

That's exactly why Zero Hedge was so attractive twelve years ago.

They had the Actual News.

Unfortunately the Actual News IS what is nowadays in the west referred to dismissively as "Conspiracy Theory" and what is peddled to us as "news" is a mixture of facts presented with bias and in some instances, criminal dishonesty.

AND, it has been proven (at least in America by our fellow Autists who are well respected in the "Truth" community) that all the "news" is single source, and repeated with minor changes universally across ALL the regional newsoutlets in the U.S.A.

The fastest Growing News outlet in the U.K. (outstripping sky news already I am told, but have not verified) is called G.B. News ( https://www.gbnews.com/news/ ) I've not used it enough my self to comment but my compatriots tell me it is a bit truthier than the regular stuff, but still satisfyingly proffesional in it's presentation.
