The Queens passing as a fundamental change to be assimilated

Like alot of people Queen Elizabeth was the only monarch I'd ever known.  I feel sad at her passing, and remain in awe of her carrying out duties -  ones that I could not even comprehend trying to do - for 70 years, when it was never her choice.

But I think my reaction is more about the fundamental change in the status quo.  Our country is already on very rocky ground with poor environmental choices and the escalating cost of living and I feel that this event has just tipped things over the edge for me....

I wondered if anyone else had felt that way?

I feel like I need time to think about it and understand it, work out how it will affect me (media input, conversations, future impact) before I can get on with other things again.

  • we elect new leaders every 4 years in the uk... infact we toss them out every 1 year so we change leaders every 1 or 2 years now..

the queen was not a leader, had no power, she was a facade, a figurehead for the sake of tradition. so its not like getting a new leader, she wasnt a leader, and she did nothing. its more like some person you saw a few times who lives 5 doors down from you has died, but you dont care because they were nothing to you anyway. kinda like that lol
