School uniform

Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for school uniform that is more comfortable and less rigid, the ones in the high street shops are really not nice.  My son was wearing shorts to school, but now has to wear trousers which I know he will struggle with the feel of the material.  I would suggest skins / leggings underneath but he doesn't generally like the feeling of those either.  Any ideas, much appreciated

  • Thank you for the suggestions, that's very helpful and I can see that there are some websites with 100% organic cotton uniform which I know is much softer, only issue is it's much more expensive and not sure how long it will last.  But I'm sure it will feel nicer than the polyester / plastic variety

    One notable difference between natural fibres and petroleum based ones is that most natural are naturally antibacterial. Wools can be hung out and can clean themselves. I buy Ecozero washing liquid (allergen free) and pop everything in a cold wash so nothing shrinks. Well-made clothes last much longer and are much better environmentally as well.
