Living with an autistic partner

Hi Does anyone know of any groups to support women with autistic partners please?

  • Problem when reading stuff can lead us down a rabbit hole not saying we should not make ourselves aware but a visit to the doctors and get an assessment there is best for starters. I am a bible believer and go to church and have autism . I don’t see my autism as a disability but enhances my faith.

  • We are both Mid 20s. She grew up to a very conservative religious family where all you need is Jesus (no disrespect to anyone who shares this belief, however her family does not believe in mental illness or developmental disability, they believe all can be solved with religion).

I agree, it can be anything. I only say autism because she’s come to me saying she suspects she might have it, and the hours of research into her symptoms have lead me to believe that it can be. Autism or not, her SYMPTOMS are what I’ve struggled to understand and live with.

  • Afraid I don't know of any, but your GP should be able to put you in touch with an autism service would will probably know if groups you could try

    Good luck
