Feeling like a child person

Does anyone else ever feel differently, like as in a person? At times I feel like I'm a young girl maybe like 12-13 years old. I guess it's a reaction to anxiety and my way of escaping stressful times?

When this happens I feel so different. My thoughts change, how I feel changes. In the past I've even spoken to child line which I feel bad about doing.

I'm not sure what to do about this. I've thought of talking to a doctor or therapist but it's a bit awkward. Don't really know how to bring it up and don't want them thinking I've got mental problems.

Parents
  • I’ve said before that sometimes I feel like I’m 14. It’s down to not being like NTs, being naive at times, and not being able to do things I want because of anxiety or Dyspraxia etc. I don’t feel like an adult a lot of time, even though I have many adult responsibilities.

Are you meaning that you regress? That’s a thing. It isn’t to do with ASD though. It can be consistent with BPD.

  • I'm not sure if it's regression I don't really understand it. I'm sorry I just get so confused. Maybe it's like you, just a feeling, despite having lots of responsibility though I guess I don't have too much responsibility.

I might try to call my GP at some point and mention BPD. I'm not sure yet. I don't want them to think I'm crazy.
