Disclosing diagnosis at work

I was interested in people's experiences of disclosing their diagnosis at work, to help me decide whether I should.

I was diagnosed last week. I have worked for my employer for 6 years. I'm lucky that I work from home, mainly report writing etc. The levels of interaction with other people are manageable. I am very good at masking. I don't really need any adjustments as I manage my own work environment. So I don't need to tell anyone, so part of me thinks 'what's the point in telling anyone?'

On the other hand, I do think that sometimes I may be seen as less friendly / less sociable than others, and maybe a bit off hand or even rude. So part of me thinks that I should disclose, because they should know why they think that is the case, and I can be myself.

I just don't know what to do. I realise that only I can make this decision, but I was really interested to hear other people's experiences.

  • I was diagnosed last year, and in my new jon I started in Nonvember I disclosed it during interview for a store assistant.

They're obliged by law (Equality Act) to agree to reasonable adjustments, once you've told them

I asked to have short shifts (7h or less), 30h per week, divide my break the way I need and take it when I need it, and they agreed to everything,
