How to they appear in you?

I find I suffer migraines from over stimulation, mutism when I'm surrounded by too much verbal input, or I then can't sleep overnight.

If I have too much nervous energy for an interview, an unplanned trip somewhere new or journey I'm concerned with then I develop gut issues (diarrhea etc).

Are these responses typical in ASC I wonder?

  • Yes. You're not alone with this. I have the same gut issues, today my gut is feeling tight, sickly and a little upset. Uh! Hate it.

    We all experience this differently a little like we all have asd but it's different for everyone. For me I experience shutdown/meltdown in two ways, one where I feel sick and faint, get very hot and will usually end up needing 5 minutes on the floor to get my breath back and calm down.

    The other way I experience this is with aggression. I just totally lose it and will lash out, sometimes run away because I'm so scared and want to get away from everything and everyone. This is the most extreme one and doesn't happen all the time thank god. It had caused a lot of issues especially with the police.

    I try to avoid meltdown and shutdown at all costs. The after effects such as extreme anxiety and exhaustion aren't pleasant.
