I had my autism assessment today which was SUCH a validating experience! I was diagnosed with passive autism and formal stilted autism. Can anyone explain what these types are, or point me in the direction of more information?

Congratulations and jubilations and welcome to your tribe :-) welcome home. Introduce yourself a bit, and chuck out your questions here.
'Passive'??? 'Stilted'??? Lol. God, first time I've heard those terms, so I'm googling like mad. Is that the new lingo for Asperger's, or 'high functioning', or 'mild' or any other of the other silly designations for saying some of us can 'mask' or have developed compensation strategies for dealing with the neurotypical world?
Meanwhile some of our brothers and sisters on the spectrum can't or find that harder, or try and soon discover masking isn't good for us. We are all linked, regardless.
We're just autistic, hun. And we ain't like our NT siblings on the planet, but have a massive contribution to make for them and us x

Thank you! I had no idea about the terms, I was just so validated by the diagnosis I couldn't take it all in! I didn't know they still diagnosed 'types'of autism, I thought we were all just autistic! The psychologist was so validating though, and she said autistics are the next step in evolution!
