How do I know if someone is lying to me or not? My core symptom of Autism Spectrum Disorder makes it hard for me to learn from my mistakes from being taken advantage of, and sometimes the police are involved.

Yes unfortunately I also have no answer to this- I find it very hard to tell too if someone is lying and I tend to believe what I am told. What I have noticed though is that if over time the actions of someone (I don't mean facial expressions and gestures- I cannot read those and actually do not even look at people's faces most of time) do not match up with what they are saying. For example, if someone keeps saying nice things but then does things that are not in your best interests or harmful. Then they might be lying... but this is not particularly helpful as by the time they have acted in a way that has caused you harm or distress/ was not in your best interests it's a bit late to realise they might have been lying...
