Memory loss

My mother has noticed that it's getting worse.

I ordered 6 plants on ebay that I've been searching for, for months and they died in a few days because I forgot to water them.

I ordered another 6 and forgot to water them again. Only two survived.

I watched 20 episodes of a TV show and I can't name any of the characters. I was watching the show and realised I knew none of their names.

I can't watch a whole episode. I have to keep pausing it after 4 or 5 minutes and I do something else, then go back to it.

I've started setting alarms on my phone to remember things during the day.

I haven't been diagnosed yet and was wondering if this could be related to autism or ADHD.

  • adding things into daily routine that are not your interest is difficult, so flowers pay the price, I was the opposite better than my sisters, in taking care of plants

  • I can't remember a name of a main character even if I read a book 3 times, so I always had E from literature

  • Non autistic forget as well. Setraline is nothing to play with, but I don't know if it should make you forget more, don't think it is. I scored 26, which is borderline. With 33 you probably got other things withing the spectrum that made you score higher.

I usually have a hard time speaking about something I saw or heard.

  • Hello,

I remember the plot and characters, but not the names. I could talk about the show to another person.

I'm on sertaline at the moment, but I've always had a problem with forgetfullness. I get the flowers and completely forget that I ordered them. It's only when I find them by accident that I remember..

    I'm very disorganised atm.

    I scored 33 on the AQ-50.

  • It doesn't have to be autism. Can you be more specific? There are 1000 of names to remember, our brain chose the most important ones and forget the ones we lost contact with.

Do you remember the shows, characters, purpose...? Can you talk about a show to a friend?

When it comes to your flowers, I don't know, that sounds awkward because this seems something you really care about. Is there any known reason why you forgot, are you on medication, are you stressed, do you feel disorganised?

All to all is this sudden, or have you always had this difficulty?
