  • Hi there,

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss and the struggles your dealing with.

Getting diagnosed as an adult is tough. I was diagnosed in 2020 at 29 and i found there isn't much support for adults (I'm from the UK so may vary depending on where you are from) . But I always said to myself if I have a diagnosis and just know for sure things will be easier. Turns out it had the opposite effect and i became very closed off as my mental health deteriorated to the point i had to take time off work because i just couldn't be around people. (I'm naturally a solitary person as socialising isn't my strong suit - due to my autism i tend to find most people i come across very tedious and uninteresting) i don't know if that's because i have limited capacity to relate to people or if the average neurotypical person is just a copy of the next stranger in the street. Being autistic or Neurodivergent has its downsides (understatement of the decade) but at least we are all unique and interesting in our own right. I think the more you interact with people in this community the more you'll see that  we can have the same interests but we all have that autistic trait that makes us different. Knowing there aren't 1000s of clones of me all looking and acting like i do out there makes me feel better (my way of dealing i guess)

I don't know much about baking other than whenever the great British bake off is on tv and my Dad buys the latest Mary Berry cook book and forces me to try his latest concoctions (He is actually not that bad). Harry Potter is my favourite book series ever my fondest memories of growing up were always when a new book released.

There are so many amazing people in this community I'm sure you'll find someone that has the same interest's as you. May just take a little time.

    Have a great day!

  • Thank you for making me feel so welcome in this comunity it is a lonely time when your Neurodivergent and don’t really know what to do.
ah don’t worry about not knowing much about baking it’s not for everyone really but Harry Potter on the other hand I think anyone who hasn’t read it is mad honestly I hadn’t read it until a few years ago and now I’m obsessed with it so swings and roundabouts I suppose.
Who’s your favourite character and Which house are in if you don’t mind me asking ??
