Hello, fellow autistic people. I know many of us prefer online interactions, so hopefully this might interest you. I will join the group on Sunday, I am very much looking forward to it.

Yes I thought there were quite a lot of people in the group too.
I really do see loads of advice on the benefits of joining the "autistic community" and finding our "neurokin" though, and there just don't seem to be many opportunties to do so.
So do I, we can learn so much from each other and feel a real sense of belonging. It is really nice to be around your neurokin as you say, other autistic people who just ‘get it’. You say there are not many opportunities, I think this is because the majority of groups are aimed at children or young people.
I know you plan on joining the group but if it doesn’t suit you, the NAS online branches may be of interest:

I hope you enjoy the Aucademy group.

i might just remain silent the first time but I'm very curious and would also like to see how it might work out over time.
15. I didn’t think the group would be that big so it was quite difficult to keep up with conversation. I thought it might be a small group where you could get to know each other.
How many people were on there at the one time do you think?
Yes that is what I did.
Cool. I joined last week and there were a range of ages, but the majority of conversation was in the chat box so it was quite hard to keep up. Also I wasn’t expected there to be people in the group from all over the world.
I hope you enjoy it you do decide to join.
Well I've joined the facebook group
Cool! I might just turn up and not say very much the first couple of times but it might be worth it.
I might give it a go, I've just turned 60
Thinking of joining too. However, also wondering whether there will be any older people, especially if they only discovered that they're autistic much later on in life. I'm nearly 60 and finding that within most online webinars and groups younger people seem to be the majority. Still, maybe that's something I'd find in most online groups and it might not be autism-specific.
Guess I could find out by just turning up...
You are very welcome. I hope you enjoy the group if you do decide to join.
