Pressure in my head

I've been acting strangely over the last year at work and at home. My mother noticed my behaviour change and so did my colleagues. I started getting pain in my head and kept getting contant styes in my eyes. I thought it was just an allergic reaction to my new kitten, but now the left side of my face around my eye is puffed out like I've been stung. I can feel something wrong in my brain. I've felt it for weeks and it hasn't gone away. Pain in my left ear. The doctor phoned me and said I need an MRI scan to see what is causing the pressure in my head. It happened before the setraline. I think I have a blockage in my sinus that needs draining. It's pushing against my brain. I can't think straght or concentrate. It's hard to get an appointmnt with my doctor. He wanted to see me last Friday, but he was fully booked, so I have to see him this Friday instead. I need my sick med certificate back dated from last Friday and more setraline. I'll also need to book a MRI to see what is happening in my head

I think there is some kind of cyst in my head pushing on my brain. I feel it the second I wake. It wakes me up. I may have to go to the ER.

  • Do get yourself seen to by a medical professional if possible. One thing I've learnt with my own health experiences is that you should always get yourself seen whenever you notice something not quite right. Never delay. I hope you start to feel better soon.

  • Thanks,

I'm going to the ER in the morning. It's getting worse every day. I'll set my alarm for 5am. Should get to the hospital by 6am. Hopefully it will be less crowed and I'll be seen without the usual 8 hour wait.

    My mind is shuttinbg down.

  • I woke up delirious. I'm seeing ther doctor in the morning and going to the ER afterwards. My left my eye is puffed out and it looks like I was stung by a wasp. I want to sleep so I bought some beer. I know you shouldn't drink on setraline but I can't sleep. I can't even watch a five minute YouTube video. My mother's carer comes in the morning and I make her tea and go to the shops for her during the day. I have a kitten and an aquarium. Some of my fish are pregnant. They can't make me stay in the hospital as I have to care for my mother and my pets. There's no one else to do it. My mother's husband died so I'm all she has.

I wouldn't be surprised if I have a brain tumour. I keep vomiting and can't hold food down. It feels like half of my brain is dead. You know when you lay down and get pins and needles and can't feel your arm or foot? I have that in my brain. It's getting worse by the week. I need to get an MRI scan so I find out what the hell is happening in my head.

  • Thanks,

I was in bad shape when I saw my GP last and he asked me to go to the ER. I went there and they done a CT scan. The doctor at the hospital said he couldn't see anything wrong in my brain.

I was relieved that it wasn't a tumour or a blood clot (because that would have answered this), but I'm left confused that nothing was found from the scan. I can feel it in the top of my head right now. This pressure, like a foreign object is there. I go for long walks daily to try and stop it, but it doesn't help. It used to. I walked to work the whole 6 miles in the morning to stem my brain fog. I thought maybe my brain just needed circulation.

I had a nervous breakdown about 8 weeks ago, so my GP put me on Setraline due to anxiety (long story).

I'm not in pain, but my brain feels swollen. Whatever it is, it's not showing up on a CT scan.

I keep getting styes in my eyes now. They have left 3 chalazions on my eyelids.

I don't know what is happening to me, but I hope I work this out soon.
