The Classic Autism issue ?

How do you cope with new surroundings/situation or even the thought of going into new surroundings ?

How do you cope with initial what to say dialogue with strangers in these new surroundings ?

What if you have a fear of new surroundings, new people and effect/stress it has no your body by tension, IBS and thoughts of being hurt, harmed or trapped in an unsafe place outwith your comfort zone with a potential psycho(nt) ?

Any advice ? This may sound extreme, but with autism this world scares,, or should I say people scare me.

"Some people are just really fierce aren't they? I'm not talking about the ones who go around shouting and starting fights on Friday night. I mean the ones who have this nice friendly/cheerful/well-spoken/middle-class/drive-a-nice-car thing going but are inside as vicious as a pack of wolves"

Right on the money there Zem,, I came from ghettoland into middle classland via academic achievements, it made my world hell, they have a social flexibility I do not have, it is called flexible corruption, not good for some one with neurological rigid condition called autism who needs and works with hard rules and facts to exist. I have left mental scared as I know them as corrupt dross, ducking and diving in there smiley whiter than white worlds. How do you get rid of a plaque of rats ? an infestion of ants ? a pack of dogs with human rabies ? I have learnt that the more normal a person is, the more darker they are inside. All the smiley NAS board members are no different from them. I SEE YOU ! and if they say they are not,, they are liars. In fact they will disagree, because all that is, is not, and all that is not, IS !

I just wish I knew a way to stop being afraid and confused by these entites they call human beings but only see them as wolves/dogs with two legs who run in packs and kill everything on the planet.

Well currently we're making a fairly good attempt on the planet!

Some people are just really fierce aren't they?  I'm not talking about the ones who go around shouting and starting fights on Friday night.  I mean the ones who have this nice friendly/cheerful/well-spoken/middle-class/drive-a-nice-car thing going but are inside as vicious as a pack of wolves.

I do avoid new situations and surroundings a lot, but there is only so far that can get you.  Sometimes I just have to grit my teeth e.g. for visiting my family.  I tend to plan such things a lot though and take as much of my "comfort zone" as I can with me.  E.g. there are several things that I just always carry with me and a lot of rules and routines that I take everywhere.  I'm always scared of things going wrong so tend to take the boy scout motto "be prepared" to the extreme.

I do need to develop some more strategies myself though.
