Hello :-)
My GP made my autism assessment referral last week, I phoned the centre who the referral was made to this morning, just to ensure they had received it and find out next steps in the process.
They have told me they received it last week, and it will be discussed at their multidisciplinary team meeting next week to decide if I should be assessed.
I know I am getting ahead of myself, but has anyone ever had their referral declined? I have a supporting letter from a clinical psychologist asking for me to be referred to autism assessment, will this be enough. However, I am unsure what evidence or information has been sent to support my referral, and I am really worrying it will be declined. The GP didn’t ask for any AQ scores (both of which I’ve done and have scored highly - 9 & circa 40), so they won’t be included.
Should I phone back and ask what information/evidence they have for my referral, or just await a decision?
Any advice would be much appreciated, please help out a worried friend :-(
