Teacher told no DMs

I am totally freaking out! I have worn DMs to work at my primary school for 20 years. They are pretty much the only shoes I wear other than in the summer. 

Just had an email today saying no DMs. I don't feel comfortable in any other shoes.  My Docs are part of what makes me, me. 

What should I do  ? I am so worried about going to work tomorrow?

  • Have they banned all DMs or just the boots? Did they say why? I have some DM Mary Janes which look like any other shoe (except the distinctive sole) not that it would help you by tomorrow morning to buy a pair but if you have nothing else they also need to give you reasonable time to buy a replacement. What do you usually wear in the summer or are you referring to the summer holidays? My daughter’s teacher always has DM shoes or sandals on, need shoes to be comfortable and hard wearing if you’re on your feet all day. I don’t think they look unprofessional or scruffy at all if they’re well looked after
