Recently diagnosed adult.

Hi, a newbie here.

i have just been diagnosed at 49. I have read some of the discussions here and it was as if people have described my life through their eyes. When I was told I have autism my entire life suddenly made sense. Everything came in to order, the confusion, the sudden onsets of panic, wondering why nobody could understand why I was doing things or reacting to certain situations the way that I was. As I’m sure many of you will understand.

Anyway, I’m relieved to finally know who I am and be able to relate to somebody.

  • Hi I am 52 and in a similar posistion. It all suddenley made sense and I finally had a label for many of my problems. Certianly where I want to school uness you were disruptuve  nobody took much notice of a kid struggling to just be average. ASD was pretty much unknown in the 1970's and 80's.However I am still waiting for a full diagnosis after 2 1/2 years.
