Humans are social creatures meant to live in close knit communities. Not having that has consequences. For me, that then becomes a conversation about surviving vs thriving. I can survive without friends. I have, for most of my life. But when I look back at the times I felt like I was thriving and truly living a life worth living, it was a time in which I was a member of a community and was supported by, and engaged in, a handful of intimate interpersonal relationships.
