Impulsivity

I'm 18 and I work full time. I recently moved to Hampshire from Devon and I don't know anyone here. I don't have any friends and I've been struggling to connect with anyone my age.

I seem to be making really impulsive decisions. Putting myself in danger a lot without realising it. A week ago I was sexually assaulted by an older man in a pub. Yesterday similar happened. I seem to be making rash decisions meeting people in an aim to make friends, and getting myself in sticky situations where I'm finding it hard to process much at all.

I keep spending way more money than I have and can't seem to save what I need for driving lessons and a mortgage and I can't seem to help myself.

Does anyone have any advice to help me manage myself a bit more?

  • Hi Magz, sorry to hear you have been struggling in you new town but good on you fofr making the move and trying a new adventure! Making freinds can be really challenging when you move to a new place but do make sure to keep yourself safe. I wanted to recommend a book to you that I have found interesting and useful, it's called "The independent woman's handbook for super safe living on the Autistic Spectrum" by Robyn Steward.

Good luck and again keep yourself safe,
