Online Social Events for Adults on the Autism Spectrum

Hi everyone,

Loads of people on here lately have been asking of ways of meeting and events taking place to make friends or talk to people with other adults on autism spectrum and as i keep mentioning it in other people's discussions that " Autism Nottingham" operate free social events online for those across the UK. I do not work for Autism Nottingham but i have been attending their "Gather.Town" event and it was honestly good experience. The people who attended where great, friendly and i genuinely felt that i belong amongst them. Most of the event require a URL link that is often posted on their facebook page just before the events take place.

I haven't attended the 'open social' or 'Jack in the Box Games' but i'm happy to inform you of my experience after the event. Hope i meet some of you there.

  • I've only attended the gather.town events so i can only explain that one from my experience. Gather.Town does have a Mic and webcam feature but you are not forced to use them, you can use the text chat feature.

if you do choose to use a mic and webcam other people attending will only see or hear you if your charter is in proximity to another character is sitting at the same table, or right next to another character.

In the virtual room used their a few tables which have different multiplayer web browser games and you can join people in the room to play games together. Like pictionary, Poker, connect 4, chess.
