Ear defenders advise..

Hello all, 

I am looking for some advice on some nice ear defenders (over-ear ones). I want ones that aren't necessarily music playing headphones as most of the time I want silence with no music), just my thoughts. 

I want some that aren't too heavy and bulky (or that look like I am drilling on a building site - if that reference makes sense?!). 

Can any one advise of any nice ones? I am open to price wise, for the right pair.

  • I recently bought some called alpine muffy and I love them. They look like headphones not ear defenders which makes me less self conscious wearing them. They are about £22 on amazon They don't block noise 100% but sound is definitely reduced. I also wear my regular earbuds under them if I want to listen to music

    Ah thank you. I didn't know you could use them without the music. I already have a pair, so I shall charge them and use them thank you very much Roy. 

    I am the same with industrial ear defenders. Too tight for me and give me a head ache! 

  • Hi, I use noise cancelling ear phones, you don’t necessarily have to play music through them, they can just be set on noise cancelling. I bought a good pair from Amazon for about £50. You can go up to about £200 but I don’t have the budget for that. If you are out and about, you can wear them and not look out of place. I find the industrial ear defenders too tight on my head.
