The Autism Show, the national event for autism, in partnership with the National Autistic Society?

Not been but got my ticket for the NEC on June 24th.

They do have a queue fast track if you're nervous and a quiet room, if anything becomes overwhelming.

I got a programme in the post today, some of the lectures look fab.

You of course don't have to 'social network's with anyone if you don't want. Attend whatever lectures you want, chill when you want, speak or not speak as you choose. Hey, at the end of the day, we'll all be autistic there. We'll all 'get' it.

I'm looking forward to it.

Hi, the show looks very interesting, I’ve had a look at the ticket section. I’m not a parent or carer and not eligible for concessions. There doesn’t  seem to be a section for a standard adult ticket. I will email later and put the answer on here in case anyone else comes across this. Same ticket handler for all three sites.

yeah its confusing the way they have listed the concessions.,

"Autistic adult, receiving DLA or PIP, unemployed, or student."

Do you have to be receiving pip or DLA, or be unemployed as well as being an Autistic Adult?

If there was an "or" after "autistic adult" I think that would be OK, but as there is no "or" does it mean you have to be on pip, dla as well as being an autistic adult? Or unemployed, or student?

I don't think they check anything when you make the payment anyway.

There is a consession for autistic adults and 20% off for NAS members 

I was thinking exactly the same, maybe autistic people don’t ‘read between the lines’ if your aiming a show  at autistic people then the instructions need to be clear. I can see what you mean about it being aimed towards parents and children, don’t know if it for me now, I will have to have a proper read tonight.

We need to tell Geoff that that makes no sense. I thought that ticket was for a professional in the autism field. They need to make it clear what a standard adult ticket is. I find this ironic given the whole show is about autism, they can't get the detail right about ticket prices which im sure will confuse a lot of people. Why are parents and carers eligible for a discounted ticket but not a autistic child free adult? When I read on the website it does seem like a lot of it is geared toward parents and autistic children.

Thanks for your email.

The professional ticket is equivalent to a standard adult ticket and so you should purchase that ticket. The parent/carer tickets are in essence discounted and then concessions additionally discounted.
