I don't get it?

I got an autism test while back and they came to the conclusion to discharge me because they can;t give me a yes or a no to autism.  1 of the DRs that did the test on me said i highly met the criteria for Autism while the second Dr that was there had a slight dissagrement on that so basically they discharged me so i will opt in for a second test but apparently my OT said they usually don;t give you a second test but might give the report for the first test but at the end of the Day i could have autism and not get the support needed cause i don't have the  answer so that's a weird one,

  • nope sadly no mention of PTSD i kinda want a formal diagnoses but same time im stressed out cause ever since my phychologist recommened me for autism test since 2019 i've had nothing but stress thinking about it but hope to get a clear answer to my mess of a self one day

  • Yes gonna speak to my phychiatrist see how it goes

  • This kinda happened to me, the assessor call me back for a send assessment and explored it further. It was complicated because i was not displaying the typical male autistic stereotypical behaviour i was behaving the more feminine autistic profile.trying to mask my issues.

Did they mention the possibility of PTSD mimicking the behaviours of autism. because my assessor found it difficult with me because she couldn't figure out if was traumatised by others for my autistic related behaviour or just traumatised. she also mentioned i was also displaying ADHD related behaviours. After a two hour assessment they came to conclusion that i was autistic, adhd and suffering with CPTSD. I think what swade my assessor was when she realised i was dyslexic and had problem recognising facial expressions in actual people and not drawings.

  • That's really really unusual and I would speak to your GP about it. Maybe ask for a special referral to an assessment centre outside of your CCG since your local authorities CCG won't give you a firm yes or no.
