Safe, go to food.

Just something lighthearted for today. Does anyone else have a food that they can always go to when they are stressed and need comforting? That food which you know you can tolerate and love.

Mine is always tomato soup with a strong cheddar cheese grated on top. One crusty roll heated in the oven. Heaven.

  • I am absolutely terrible for turning to crisps, biscuits, cakes, and ice-cream. With biscuits, I am rarely able to eat just one or two, as I have a tendency to devour the whole pack. Chocolate bars are another weakness, especially Cadbury's Double Decker and Cadbury's (or supermarket own-brand) Whole Nut. Also, peanuts and cashew nuts.

    In terms of savoury foods: bacon butties, sausage rolls, pork pies, pulled pork sandwiches, and turkey sandwiches.
