I read that you are after a social worker. I've worked with the NHS and the best way to do this is through the GP, he or she can write to them a referral for you and explain your situation and what you need. You could call social services directly but it will be better coming from the GP. Best of luck x
Oh I see, I didn't read that bit. That could be a long wait. The system is very slow especially since Covid happened. I would suggest keeping on at the GP, if the GP chases up the referral it will push him further up the list as hearing from the GP again suggests he still needs help or his situation has worsened and that gives him priority.
