I volunteered once about five years ago. It wasn't a good experience for me. It was in a charity shop but there was so much pressure and stress. People would come up to me and ask questions or just do general chit chat which I found I was unable to cope with. Caused a lot of my health issues to trigger and resulted in panic and anxiety attack. It's a shame as I did enjoy sorting through the stuff and putting it on shelves, but my health made it impossible to stay there. If you aren't overly anxious talking and being around people then you'd probably be ok.
