Since realising I have autism I have really started to notice how hypocritical towards disability the world can be. For example, nobody would get angry at someone who is deaf for not understanding what they have just said. Yet, a person with autism will be criticized for their inability to process or for having trouble with executive functioning.
With any other disability society will put in place things to try to improve equality such as ramps for wheelchairs having hearing loops etc and yet we are expected to force ourselves to conform to society in order to get on and I am starting to find it infuriating and unfair.
Don't get me wrong I don't see myself as a victim and don't expect special treatment but would just like to see a little more consistency in how society ensures equality.
Anyway moan over but just wondered if anyone else feels the same or if anyone has a positive experience to share?
