Long waiting list and frustrating traits

Hi there,

I recently had my initial appointment for autism and was told it would b over a year for proper assessment Sob

i am getting so frustrated with life like i don’t know if i am autistic yet but i equally cant help myself when i dont know what’s wrong.

Is it a thing to get frustrated when I have to stay home? I love being out but it is exhausting at the same time?! I feel this specifically when I’m tired which is weird because I will keep pushing myself. I get annoyed when I cant go somewhere and do something fun. It makes me want to hit my head off a wall for lack of better description.

It really affects my mental health too, I dont know?!

  • Hi there,

I empathise with your frustration about really long waiting times....

You're in the right place though, by coming to this community.  By talking to autistic people, you'll learn more about autism, and you can try out things that others have found helpful.  If they help you, what's the harm in trying them, even if you later turn out not to be autistic?

Wishing you well, and hoping things will get better for you...
