Online assessment?

Hi everyone,

not written in a while as had accident and surgery for torn rotator cuff so been in sling prison since November.

I have been given a date for formal NHS diagnosis after waiting 3 years and it’s to be done online.

can you kind people who have had an online assessment inform me what to expect.

Do they use DISCO, RDOS, IQ test, use that frog book thing?

is it worth me writing out my childhood memories and experiences, in fact writing out my difficulties full stop as an aid?

I’m very nervous as I don’t like surprises and not knowing what to expect. I’m having this odd feeling of being fake? Doubt creeping in, is this normal?

I can hear the ‘just be yourself’, but after 60 odd years of masking I don’t know if that’s me at all if you know what I’m getting at.

anyway, any insight would be appreciated to help me deal with the anxiety on this self discovery.

  • That what I was thinking. Being older adults I suppose we have more awareness and can communicate more than a child. Life experiences say more than any activity test or IQ if you’ve achieved say degrees, qualified in an area of work or maintained work in general and have a passion in something. Maybe I’m overthinking it as usual. I’ve done the tests you mentioned and scored high consistently so I’m probably being suspicious out of my own mistrust issue. Thank you.

  • I was referred to the lancashire autism service through the nhs. I had three online questionnaires (AQ50, EQ50, and a relatives questionnaire), followed by a 2 hour interview with a psychologist over microsoft teams. It's been about a year since then and I just received another appointment in 2 weeks time, which I'm guessing will be the results.

But no DISCO, no RDOS, no IQ test and no frog book. At least, not yet. I'm a bit surprised by that to be honest, as most people seem to to get full iq test style results in their report, and I haven't had any testing that would yield that kind of detail yet.
