Ah?

I had a autistic assessment yesterday and it was so stressful as the assessor fed back negative comments made by a relative as part of the assessment. I was so upset to learn of these comments, is this normal practice? Please help, as I am not sure about continuing with it.

  • I'm sorry you've had this negativity during your assessment. I had the same when I went through mine. It is normal as they have to look back through your childhood to assess you properly, they look at all parts of your life. I had negative comments about me as a child and a teen because I was a violent at times and mean. I found it upsetting and at times didn't want to continue, but my dad encouraged me to and I'm glad he did because once I got through it I was much happier and proud.
