Moving house

Hi Wave  just wanted to get some opinions/views on how people felt when moving house.
I’ve recently moved into a new home and I’m finding it so overwhelming and unmanageable. The change feels like it is causing me constant anxiety. Is this normal? Has anyone else felt like this before ?
thanks!

  • Hi,

when I go through big changes like this my anxiety suddenly spikes, but it's normal to be feeling this way. However difficult it may be for you, it will go away. I felt the same for you accept it was only the summer holidays and the transition from being working to being at home or on holiday was awful for me to the point I was mentally and phisically ill. It must be hard moving house but the anxiety will definetly go away. What may help you is maybe watching or reading your favorite Tv series or book because just doing something you did before moving house may help you to settle and give you a little mental break from all of the stresses you may be going through right now.

I remember the last time my family and I moved house and I had chicken pox the day we were moving so I just remember sitting in the corner of my old home wrapped up in a blanket, watching the removal people pass by. I also remember how strange and unsettled it felt for me at the very begining like you may be feeling now,  but I settled in very well.

If you have lots of things in boxes and packed away, it may also feel even worse for you because you are not surrounded by the things you were used to waking up to and seeing every day but once you can finally re arrange your new home to the way that suits you, then it will feel loads better.

I hope the process goes well and your anxiety gets better. Goodluck !
