Autism Book Recommendation- Drama Queen by Sara Gibbs

I have just finished the book Drama Queen by Sara Gibbs, it is brilliant. I would really recommend it, the last chapter ‘Autistic’ is particularly powerful and emotional.

Just to warn you, there are potential triggers in this book:

Almost constant invalidation/dismissal of autistic traits during childhood (although she wasn’t identified as autistic until she was 30)
Chapter on caring for her terminally ill father

Good. I think the book is quite funny sometimes too, but then she is a comedy writer.

Some other great books for Autistic Girls especially are the sequel of books written by Libby Scott aged 14 with Autism. The books are: Ways To Be Me, Do You Know Me and Can You See Me . These are great books and really show the life of an Autistic 12 year old girl.

I’m reading this at the moment. About three quarters through the book, and I’m really enjoying it.
