knit cap pulling on my short hair, or itching, but only when lying down..... !

i noticed i get this very irritating occasional itching on the back of my scalp, or top of my head, or on the temples near my ears... when i wear my knit hats to bed. sometimes it gets so bad, i wonder if i have bed mites, or the like. i doubt that i do. i wear these same hats during the day - no problem. i decided it was the lying down, and possibly the hat pressing on, or tugging on, my scalp or close cut hair... if you try it, you'll notice that if you lie on your back, a knit hat will be pulled slightly this way or that by the ground, if your head moves.

i always wear a knit cap to bed, because i like to sleep very warm, particularly in the winter. i suppose it's almost like a heavy blanket, in terms of security, also? since i have short hair, i wear knit hats almost every day during the winter. i own several -- but again, a lot of it is for warmth.

wondered if anyone else can relate. i wonder if this is like people who can't wear certain textures, or tags on clothes, etc..  personally, i avoid smooth fabrics (synthetics) and, of course, wool, dut to it being itchy.

i have gone back to my old blue knit hat - i assume synthetic - fits very loose, and is not warm enough for a cold winter night. but it don't itch.

happy new year! except, imho, 2022 will be even worse than 2021, if that is possible. and, it is.
