Childhood / teenage memories

Those of you have only been diagnosed as an adult or even just believe that you have autism what are some childhood memories that seem to make sense now?

Here are mine...

I had Barbie / Shelly dolls that used to belong to my aunt as well as her dolls house furniture. I wasn't really interested in dolls but none the less I kept them at my mum's flat (I lived with grandparents). When I was at my mum's I would take out the dolls and the furniture, lay out the furniture on a mat (no particular order) and then put 2 dolls into a an open top Barbie car and drive them around a bit, but there was no imaginary play involved.

I remember getting fixated with a few films (one film a time) and then watching them on video many times. I had an old Blue Peter tape at mum's and was content with watching it many times too and then later on the same thing with a Simpsons video tape.

I used to love junk modelling and often made sort of play grounds, although my models never had any mechanics involved (e.g. circle stuck on base represented a roundabout).

I initially liked jelly (jelly pots) but then one day I started eating one and realised that I didn't like the texture, I still don't like jelly or jelly like foods.

Oh and I never like the labels on  my clothing as a child.
